Cincinnati Recorder ConSORT in ConCERT!

Enjoy the fun of hearing pop & party music that people loved in the time of princesses, dukes, and jesters.

The Cincinnati Recorder Consort brings their precious blend of sweet sounds to the Behringer-Crawford Museum on Saturday, Nov. 15, 11am. Riverboat Room.

The consort features Recorders (“Blokfluiten”) from small Soprano (like your kid in 4th grade has) to Contrabass, which is taller than most people. This concert also features small Percussion and Cornamuses (early reed instruments).

Most people are surprised to hear a full consort of Recorders, played beautifully as they were for centuries before the screeching of pre-middle school assembly programs.

Music of Gabrielli, Byrd, Buxtehude, Bach, Praetorius, and others.

What a great outing for all ages! BCM’s spectacular Holly Jolly Days (opening Tuesday, Nov. 11) brings holiday miniature trains, actual costumes and props from the 1954 movie "White Christmas,” and BCM’s core exhibits of Ice Age fossils, an actual Trolley, and the beauty of Northern Kentucky Culture and History.

Once inside the Museum, the concert is free and open to the public of ALL AGES. BCM offers free onsite parking.

Columbus OH Pueri Cantores Festival

  • Archbiship Earl Fernandez, Presider, St. Joseph Cathedral & Holy Cross Church (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

OK - this is tough: Hate to say, but last year, the Cincinnati Festival had to be cancelled because most of our AWESOME children and youth choir directors did not feel they could dedicate the time to learn the music.

There ARE 15+ other regional festivals in the U.S.A. each year, and countless others across the world. We CAN do this.

#1 - NKYYC offers whatever assistance you need as a director to help your choristers learn the rep and have fun. During or outside of school hours. Univ. of Notre Dame Regional Children’s Choir is our model. NKYYC is BOTH choir AND choir assistance. We can can help you and your choir! Email us.

#2 - If Cinci disappears, we will go to Columbus!

RECORDER/BLOKFUIT classes - learn Recorder as a classical instrument

Learn Recorder - “Blokfluit” (Dutch) - “Flauto Dolce” (Italian) as a classical instrument.

NKYYC provides a loaner Recorder for beginning players. We also provide several alto, tenor, and bass recorders.

Pedagogy is blended, and yes, we find ALOT in the von Trapp Family Method (the Sound of Music people).

Ensembles will be formed. Participants will learn listening, timing, and communication skills. Music from the Renaissance, Baroque, and current times is learned and played.

Email us for more information; courses start with 3 or more students: nkyYouthChoir@gmail.com
